PEVA RECRUITING

To view Uncommitted Athletes please go to our ROSTER page.  You can sort by team or search at the top left of the page

Here are some frequently asked questions:

1. Is a recruiting service like NCSA helpful to purchase? Not really, coaches get hundreds of emails from services like this and the emails are all generic. College coaches would much rather hear from the student athlete themselves.

2. How long should a highlight video be? No more than 2 minutes

3. University Athlete is a great free recruiting profile to use. Some PEVA members use it and have had good experiences with it.

4. Athlete driven communication- athletes are steering the ship, they are the ones who should be doing all of the communication to college coaches. Parents, coaches, director, recruiting coordinator are all there to guide them and help them along the way!

5. As you develop your list of schools and communicate with them, share this with your coaches, director and recruiting coordinator so that we can advocate for you if we see one of those colleges at tournaments.

6. When writing an email to a college, make sure to include all members of their staff (head coach, assistant coaches, etc.). You will more than likely get a response from one or more of them.

The recruiting process is different for every athlete and every school. The key is communication between the athlete and coaches and the athlete and us. We are here to assist EVERY ATHLETE with moving to the next level.

What PEVA will be focusing on each year

  • Seniors: We will be helping you contact schools and discuss offers received. If necessary, we will create a new video, discuss feasibility of potential schools, and help the athlete create a realistic list. There is no end date for recruiting, so we will work with you until we find a solution.
  • Juniors: This year will be focused on working down the athlete’s list. We will help the player navigate official visits, writing coaches, and handling the emotion that comes with the recruiting process. 17s should also make sure they are registered for a college entrance exam, so that we can share scores and GPA with coaches. Some athletes will commit during this year, while others will use this time to figure out what they want.
  • Sophomores: Although players may not have direct contact with coaches until June 15th after their sophomore year, many of our athletes will receive questionnaires and camp information prior to this date. During sophomore year we will be working with athletes to answer preliminary questions about where they see themselves, and what the financial needs of the family might be. By mid season an athlete should have collected enough game film to begin a highlight video and pull ten minutes of straight game play. We encourage athletes to keep a list of the schools that have sent them questionnaires in addition to the list of schools they would like to contact in June. Sophomores should have an account created with University Athlete, NCSA or a similar service (linked below).
  • Freshman and Under: We are here for you and at this time the best thing you can do is train hard and excel in the classroom. Younger players can also create an account using one of the recruiting profile sites listed below.
