Is Train & Play for me?
Train & Play is the ideal program for high school multi-sport athletes or those with busy schedules who wish to train once per week and are looking for an alternative to travel volleyball to improve their skills. Our traditionally strong Train & Play program practices once a week and will participate in one play day event. If you are available on Sundays the Train & Play program is for you!
How do I sign up? Do I need to try out?
There is no tryout required for this program. You will need to register online. Registration typically fills quickly, but we do keep a waitlist.
Where do we play?
All practices and competitions take place at the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Center at One Herron Ave, Emsworth, PA 15202. We understand that our athletes are balancing a full schedule along with volleyball and we have built the Train & Play schedule to allow our high school athletes the flexibility to attend to their jobs, family, academic, and other athletic commitments without missing their Pittsburgh Elite Train & Play session.
What can I expect at Train & Play?
Athletes can expect high quality instruction that includes individual skill progression, team drills and concepts, as well as opportunities to play in doubles, triples, fours and traditional six-on-six competitive formats. Practices are geared to foster competitiveness and volleyball skill execution. Within the first few weeks of the play, athletes are grouped into competitive teams, practice game situations and scrimmage with their team.
Will I receive a discount if I miss a session?
Registration is for the entire season. With the popularity of this program, we are unable to extend a discount for sessions missed. Any discounts or refunds are offered on a case-by-case basis and credited due to extenuating circumstances at the discretion of Pittsburgh Elite.
Who will be my coach?
Our athletes love our positive, professional and knowledgeable staff. Our experienced coaches are from all corners of the volleyball world and are committed to deliver the very best volleyball experience. Our coaches will challenge you to be the strongest athlete you can be. Many of our travel team coaches help out with the Pittsburgh Youth League, so occasionally the athlete may have a different coach on weeks where our travel teams are out of town competing. Rest assured, all of our staff are well educated and are committed to positive, quality coaching and player development.
